In our small studio in Brown Hill Creek, Adelaide, on the unceded lands of the Kaurna people. Every piece is designed, cast and finished by hand.
Yes. We design each shape, make every mould by hand, then pour, trim and finish each piece by hand. The mould just lets us repeat a shape precisely. Read the longer answer on our blog.
We design everything ourselves and prototype it before it becomes a mould. No bought moulds, no shortcuts. The full story is on our About page.
Yes, all our pieces are dishwasher and microwave safe. The colour is mixed into the porcelain itself rather than sitting on the surface, so it's more resistant to fading over time.
Our pieces are glazed inside and on the rim, where food and lips touch. The outside is left raw on purpose, so you feel the porcelain itself. Like any cup's foot ring, the base can darken a little with use. A magic sponge or a little baking soda usually brings it back.
A high quality porcelain casting slip, with body stains mixed through it for colour, and a clear glaze we make in house. Everything is fired to cone 10 for strength and durability.
Porcelain fired to cone 10 is tough and made for daily use. Normal use shouldn't chip it, but like any ceramic, a hard knock or a drop can. If you stack plates or bowls, a bit of felt or cloth between them keeps the surfaces looking their best.

No. Because each piece is handled while the clay is soft, shapes vary slightly. It's part of how they're made.

Yes, for the right fit. We love working with cafes, restaurants and shops. We're a small studio with limited capacity, so we can't say yes to everything. Email us about your space and what you have in mind, and we'll let you know.
We're a small studio and we've never thought that was a reason not to care. Our studio is built from reclaimed materials and has no power or running tap, and our clay scraps go back into new slip. Read more on our About page.
